Portage is a borough with home rule status in Cambria County, Pennsylvania, United States. It is 10 miles (16 km) southeast of Ebensburg and 22 miles (35 km) southwest of Altoona. It is part of the Johnstown, Pennsylvania Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 2,459 at the 2020 US census.

SUNSHINE NOTICE

Portage Borough Council has set the regular and committee monthly meetings for 2026 which will be held on the first Monday of each month; unless the first Monday is a holiday, in which case the meeting will be held on the first Tuesday.   The meetings will begin at 6:30 p.m. prevailing time at the Portage Borough Administration Building located at 721 Main Street, Portage, PA.

Regular meetings for 2026 will be January 5th, February 2nd, March 2nd, April 6th, May 4th, June 1st, July 20th, August 3rd, September 8th, October 5th, November 2nd, and December 7th, 2026.

Committee of the Whole meetings for 2026 will be held at 6:30 p.m. on the following dates: January 19th, Tuesday, February 17th, March 16th, April 20th, May 18th, June 15th, August 17th, September 21st, October 19th, and November 16th.

A special meeting of Council (budget adoption) will be held on Friday, December 18th, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. All meetings are open to the public.
