Portage is a borough with home rule status in Cambria County, Pennsylvania, United States. It is 10 miles (16 km) southeast of Ebensburg and 22 miles (35 km) southwest of Altoona. It is part of the Johnstown, Pennsylvania Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 2,459 at the 2020 US census.

SUNSHINE NOTICE

Portage Borough Council has set the regular and committee monthly meetings for 2025 which will be held on the first Monday of each month; unless the first Monday is a holiday, in which case the meeting will be held on the first Tuesday.   The meetings will begin at 6:30 p.m. prevailing time at the Portage Borough Administration Building located at 721 Main Street, Portage, PA.

Regular meetings for 2025 will be January 6th, February 3rd, March 3rd, April 7th, May 5th, June 2nd, July 21st, August 4th, Tuesday-September 2nd, October 6th, and November 3rd, and December 1st, 2025.

Committee of the Whole meetings for 2025 will be held at 6:30 p.m. on the following dates: January 20th, Tuesday, February 18th, March 17th, April 21st, May 19th, June 16th, August 18th, September 15th, October 20th, and November 17th.

A special meeting of Council (budget adoption) will be held on Friday, December 19th, 2025 at 6:00 p.m. All meetings are open to the public.
