Effective immediately; due to the Winter Storm Warning issued by the National Weather Service in State College, the Portage Borough Winter Parking Ordinance will be strictly enforced by the Portage Borough Police Department.  During periods of plowing operations, parking is prohibited on the ODD side of the street on Friday and the EVEN side of the street on Saturday.  Portage Borough is asking for compliance to facilitate snow removal.

The Lateral testing of all properties will be required in Ward 3 upon completion of the project.  For compliance and testing requirements; refer to Ordinance 4-2014. 
Parking on certain streets and avenues during Snow plowing operation will be in effect from November 1st , 2015 through March 31st, 2016; per ordinance 3-1999 from the hours of 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. during snowfall. 
It shall be unlawful for any owner or operator to park on the odd side of the street on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays. 
It shall be unlawful for any owner or operator to park on the even side of the street on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.

 Borough Council Meetings

Portage Borough Council meets the first Monday
of every month beginning at 6:30 p.m. in Council
Chambers for regular council meetings:
The meeting dates for 2016 are:
Regular meetings will be held on January 4th;  
February 1st, March 7th, April 4th, May 2nd  
June 6th , July 18th, August 1st,
Tuesday-September 8th, October 3rd,
November 7th and December 5th.
Committee of the Whole meetings for 2016 will
be held at 6:30 p.m. on the following dates:
January 18th, Tuesday, February 16th, March 21st,
April 18th, May 16th, June 20th, August 15th,
September 19th, October 17th, and November 21st .
A special meeting of Council (budget adoption) will be held on Friday, December 16th at 6:00 p.m.
