 Alerts and Notices

The Administration Office will be closed from Wednesday,
November 25th thru Monday, November 30th, 2015.  The
office will resume normal business operations on Monday,
December 1st, 2015 at 8:00 a.m.
The Rotary Club of Portage will be sponsoring the annual
Portage Christmas Parade on Saturday, December 12th, 2015.
The parade will start on Caldwell Avenue near the Centre
Town Mall and proceed up Main Street.  Line up at 1:00
and parade starts promptly at 2:00.  To participate in the
parade, please complete the form.   
The WinterFest Committee has set the event to be held on
Friday, December 11th through Sunday, December 13th.

Curb sweeping Wards 1 and 3   From Main Street to Park & Football Stadium
November 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th
Curb sweeping in Ward 2 (From Main Street to the High School)
November  4th, 12th, 18th, 25th  
Bagged leaves will be collected on Fridays, November 13th, 20th, 27th
Leaves may be placed in plastic bags and placed on the curb the day
of pickup. Raking leaves to the curb is the preferred method of
disposal. More dates may be added depending on weather.

The Portage Area Sewer Authority will be commencing with the sewer project in Ward 3 beginning the week of June 1st, 2015.  The Lateral testing of all properties will be required.  For compliance and testing requirements; refer to Ordinance 4-2014. 
As a reminder to borough residents; please keep your lawns mowed.  The Borough implemented Ordinance 4-2011 concerning grass and weed height restrictions to only (10") ten inches.

New Garbage collection rates went into effect on January 1st, 2015:
    curbside service monthly fee $14.30 - quarterly-$42.90
    prepaid bags (pack of ten) $31.00

Portage Borough Council meets the first Monday
of every month beginning at 6:30 p.m. in Council
Chambers for regular council meetings:
The meeting dates for 2015 are:
Monday-January 5th, February 2nd, March 2nd,
April 6th, May 4th, June 1st, July 20th, August 3rd,
Tuesday-September 8th, October 5th, November 2nd,
and December 7th.
Portage Borough Council meets the third Monday
of every month beginning at  6:30 p.m. in Council
Chambers for committee of the whole meetings:
January 19th, Tuesday-February 17th, March 16th,
April 20th, May 18th, June 15th, no meeting in July,
August 24th, September 21st, October 19th,
November 16th, and a special meeting of Council
will be held on Friday, December 18th at 6:00 p.m.
